We recommend that anyone with Duchenne and other neuromuscular diseases (and reduced vital capacity) should use cough assist or air stack 3 sessions a day (10-15 times per session) forever to maintain lung compliance. Cough assist and air stacking has also been shown to improve lung compliance in patients with low vital capacity.
