Sleep study just done

Postby eileenflora » Fri Jan 22, 2016 1:08 am

Hello, my name is Eileen Castine, I have Myotonic Dystrophy DM1 and am looking for information as I have just done a sleep study. I love reading and learning new things, but I am a little overwhelmed at all the information.

Hi Eileen and welcome to the forum. We generally do not recommend sleep studies or polysomnograms as they are technically known, but since it was done it could be helpful to know about the results. A more useful study is to measure just Oxygen and Carbon Dioxide during sleep. Oxygen always is but carbon dioxide is usually not done as part of most polysomnograms. Was any treatment recommended based on your sleep study? What symptoms were you having, if any, that caused your doctor to order the sleep study? Were breathing measurements done?
