Bipap st

Postby Nil » Tue Jul 11, 2017 6:13 pm

Hello Dr. Bach, first of all i want to say that we are thankfull to you. We do so many things under your great advises. We are using bibap ST and the settings are ipap 18 epap 4, BPM 27. Our doughter is 18 months old type 1 and we are in spinraza trial and taking the drug from 3.5 months old. Now she started to stand a few minutes. From 6 month old we are using the bibap aproxx. 2 hours, if she is sick 3-4hours during night time. We can only use it when she is sleeping otherwise she cries too much and we can't stop her and take the mask out. When she is slleping if she hears the opening sound of the bibap she starts to cry. She doesnt want to wear it. We wonder why is she still doesn't used to it. May be we do something wrong but we did'nt find it. And also want to know what is the optimum using time of bibap?

If she is standing, maybe she does not have paradoxical breathing and doesn't need BiPAP and that is why she is rejecting it. Generally the span of 18 or 22/4 is OK but 18/0 is more comfortable and better but you can not do that with BiPAP. Anyway, while she may not need BiPAP, her cough is certainly weak and she WILL need the CoughAssist when she is ill and she will probably need BiPAP then too. Try to come here for a visit or visit one of the other noninvasive management centers in http://www.breatheNVS.com

Thank you Dr. Bach for your answer. As you recommendations we use cough asist every day two times (2x5 sets) a day ( 53 inspiration for1.3 second 53 expiration for1.3 sec aouto track)Unfortunately Our doughter still have paradoxical breathing. In our country pulmonologists doesn't prescribe any respiratory device if baby can breath. We gave our doctor your articles and we wanted a trilogy but he prescribed bibap st. Now we used whisp pediatric mask. May be its a little uncomfortable mask. Can you recommend another mask. And one important question is how long do we have to use it during a day. Now we are trying to use it 2 hours at night. If everything goes well we are planing to come USA and visit your clinic in 2018 . We appreciate everything you did. Thanks....
